Our cooperation with potteries from Greece began in the 1980s when the archaeologist and ceramist E. Kanis learned the old crafts and worked in various workshops in Greece over the years.
Since he opened the workshop and gallery “Palatina Keramik ( Palatine Ceramics)” together with the conservator and partner B. Hagenburger, they did not only offer ceramics from their own production, but right away also the Cretan terracotta pottery.
Quite likely unrivalled in this country is the almost exclusive production of and special concern with frost resistant and handmade terracotta garden planters. Our own experience in everyday handling and use of ceramics exists for more than 20 years – from the use in private gardens to practical cooperation with dedicated perennial nurseries.
Therefore, in addition to high quality and aesthetic design we always pay special attention to the possibility of meaningful application of our range of pottery. Another reason why we have for example developed and implemented the idea of our individual metal planter inset especially for the “decoration ceramics” or amphorae.
In cooperation with our partner Jörg Beyer, who is operating “Palatina-Keramik” as “Palatina-Werkstatt (Palatine Workshop)” since 2011, we can also offer our internet shop since 2013.

All Terrakotta pots and amphorae offered here originate exclusively from family owned Cretan potteries, whose works are notable for particularly careful shaping and lovingly precise detail that will give you many years of joy.
The ceramics have – both planted and unplanted – proven for years to be absolutely frost resistant in our climatic conditions. We hope not only that you will enjoy the selection but also that you find some interesting background information here. The provision of consistently high quality is just as important to us as the immediate processing of your order as soon and as affordable as possible.
